The general scope of this project included the installation of storm drainage inclusive of manholes and piping, low pressure and high pressure water mains, sanitary sewer force mains, natural gas mains, low voltage and high voltage power ductbanks, communication ductbanks, airfield lighting, jet fuel mains, glycol issue & reclaim lines, diesel piping, underground storage tanks, miscellaneous ground service equipment utilities, a new guard post, various security enhancements, and new PCC and asphalt pavement. This project included nearly 27,000 linear feet of new utilities and over 500,000 square feet of new pavements inclusive of over 30,000 tons of asphalt pavements and over 10,000 cubic yards of PCC pavement. The project was built in 14 different micro stages to allow for airport operations to carry on uninterrupted while construction operations were in full effect. The large number of stages coupled with the large scope of work made this project incredibly difficult from a logistical standpoint, but the project team overcame every obstacle and delivered the project successfully.
