Sea Crest Construction was contracted by EJM Airport to participate in the design and construct a 5-story, 209, 244 square foot office building on a nine (9) acre site. Sea Crest Construction worked closely with the design team in developing solutions to meet the General Services Administration requirements for a bomb-proof building. In addition, Sea Crest helped the design team value engineer certain features of the project resulting in reduced costs to the Client. Design recommendations included selection of building materials, selection of building systems and equipment, and construction feasibility relating to alternative methods of construction.

One of the special requirements for this project was that the building be bomb-blast resistant in compliance with federal specifications. All exterior windows and doors had to be specially designed and fabricated to meet blast resistant criteria. The reinforced concrete superstructure, which bears on piles, consists of oversized columns, floor slabs and reinforced concrete walls.

Sea Crest, in association with its affiliated company Peter Scalamandre and Sons, self-performed all excavation, concrete foundation, concrete superstructure, and appurtenant site work. This self-performance helped Sea Crest meet the aggressive fifteen (15) month project schedule.
